Does anyone know anything about tropical fish? I have a community fish tank at the moment with Neon Tetras, Glow Light Tetras, Guppies, Silver Tipped Tetras and a single Red-Tailed Shark. i really really want some Angel Fish and wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of a miniture Angel Fish? Normal size Angel Fish are prob a bit dodgy in my tank as tetras, especially the Neons, are small.
My dad has tropical fish and he had guppies when he first got the tank and he was told not to put in any angel fish cos the guppies would bite them!! They look so innocent as well so not sure how true that is....
i thought i was more the Angel fish eating the smaller ones. Thought miniture Angel fish would be ok, maybe i was wrong. Gutted now, love angle fish. lol
Maybe it's the other way round and the angelfish attacks the guppies? All I remember is that I was gutted cos we had to wait ages to get an angelfish cos the guppies kept breeding and there was nothing we could do!
I've never found any nice tempered Angel fish & I've been looking for a while. I'm not an expert at all, but mine always chased everything & each other. My aquarium man said that they are just like that & all the varieties grow big.
I'd love to be proved wrong tho if anyone knows better.
my mum has just rung me, apparently she thinks she has found somewhere that does smaller varieties that may b ok in community fish tank. if that fails then it looks like i'll have to get another fish tank and put some Angel Fish in that one.
My son has recently bought tropical fish and has also bought 3 types of filters because the shop don't really seem to know which on is right. The filters range in their intensities but none of them seem to be doing their job right since different fish seem to die each week. He changes the water (10 -20%) every oher week and takes readings. He has an average sized aquarium. Anyone able to advise me on a decent filter that is reliable. Thanks in advance. :)
