A friend out walking her dog last week came across a box at the side of a country road. She thought it was moving.
When she eventually plucked up the courage to open it, she found six very young kittens.
She took them to the vet, and, thankfully, all have been promised homes.
What sort of heartless, wicked, bar steward could do this to defenceless little kittens?
I just hope mummy cat is OK.

IMO any "dumping" of unwanted animals is heartless and cruel. They can be handed in to RSPCA, rescue centres, animal charities...any of these organisations will do what's needed to avoid unnecessary suffering. Leaving them in a box at the side of a country road, not knowing how long it would be before they are found, if indeed they are going to be found before...

Some sicko did this earlier this weekhttp://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/tortured-sheffield-dog-issac-1-5453967
What is wrong with people??
I would have been so upset to find that. There are so many charities around that will neuter/spay cats and dogs for a tiny fee (or free) these days that there is no excuse for unwanted litters of kittens or puppies.
I don't think they mean to be evil. They get a cat, don't realise the costs involved, cat gets up the duff, they can't handle the kittens.

£100 to get my cat sorted, and he was the runt of the litter.

I'm not condoning the abandoning of animals, btw.
I just don't understand why, if they do have to "dump them", they don't do it outside an RSPCA.
There was a story in my local paper not so long ago about a bin man finding a litter of kittens in a wheelie bin, which had been put out for collection that day :-(
Thankfully he had heard them before putting it on to the truck.
That is proper cruel :-(
If vets neutered them for free it would not be such an issue....even a visit to our vets costs£20!
Terrible huh. Wouldn't that play on your mind for like, forever. Poor little mites.

Some people live in a parallel universe where care of animals is concerned. Only last week I drove past what was obviously a dead dog in a carrier bag on the road. Despicable, beyond understanding.
I just can't understand the mentality of some "people"
i would have kept all 6!!!
Anngel, vets are a business. You wouldn't say "oh if garages did MOT's for free"
The fact that a pet costs money id a fact and its the responsibility of the pet owner to take care of their pet, including neutering.
