My daughter got some of those little sea monkeys that are actually tiny shrimp or something and the kit came with instructions but most of them were lost in translation. They intructions say something about changing the water every 2-3 days, but how do I do that??? The things are so tiny there is no way I could separate them to change the water. Does anyone have any experience of these things? Any help would be appreciated.

Wouldn't it have made sense to find out how to keep them before getting them?

lankeela, thank you for your snidey comment but my my brought them for her without my knowledge.
Nothing snidey about it, just common sense. Not a very good learning curve for the poor child if they die through lack of knowledge is it?

You are completely correct, I should have foreseen the woeful death of these tiny creatures BEFORE my mother bought them for my daughter. Luckily I have a spare Time Machine in the shed because our day to day run around Time Machine is in the shop, a shop that has yet to be built. I will use our spare Time Machine to travel back to before my mother bought these infernal tiddlers and ask her to also buy me technical literature on the safe keeping and maintenance of them. Thank you for highlighting my unintentional ignorance and I hope in future to be aware of unpredictable problems before they occur, just as you are so capable of doing, I'm sure. Thanks for being no help whatsoever, Captain Hindsight.
Your number 1 fan.
Goodness, what a sarcastic response! Didn't your mother think of this, either? How old is your daughter?
... anyway, snags has told you now
hello swiper

i have not looked at the link provided by snags yet
my first thought went to a very fine small net to act like a strainer
"Captain Hindsight" ... LOL, LOL

But, ahem, seriously ... most of the friends I have whose children have had sea monkeys have ...

Err, how can I put this?

Well, the secret of looking after them seems to involve not spilling them on the carpet.
We successfully managed to not hatch two seperate batches of the stupid things despite buying a special sort of water and keeping a lamp on them to keep them warm. If you are lucky they will die quickly before your daughter gets bored of them.
