How spooky. My GSD whose name is Gypsy is also having problems with mobility at the moment.
Same as yours, problems getting up, walking downstairs and steps, fine when she's been moving a bit.
Mine has arthritis and is currently on anti inflammatory, painkillers, cod liver oil, glucosamine and Yumove. She's a lot better than she was on Monday when I took her to the vets.
Thank you for your reply ashia is on yumove to and I just bought her a memory foam bed what worry's me is she is only 4 but acting like a dog a lot older when she cant get up you can see the panic in her eyes vets defo in the next day or two x
A four year old should not be having trouble getting up. You must get her to the vets as soon as possible. Mine is nearly twelve and mobility problems are to be expected. There is something fundamentally wrong with your GSD. Get her sorted out please.
I am taking her sat morning to be checked so will let you know how she gets on she is my 6th gsd a rescue I took on, overall she is in very good health and plays most of the time with my other dogs x
This one is called ashia gypsy was my gsd who I lost 2 years ago age 14 she was one of the best dogs I have ever owned a pleasure to train and work with in her memory I always use her name lol x
Hope its not but there is a condition called DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) where one of the symptoms is problems getting up, and this can affect dogs of her age. The vet will know about this and be able to rule it out if its not. Another symptom is the toes knuckling under as they walk, with the foot not righting itself as quickly as it should.
