Tonight I was driving in the country, and passed a field which was completely white, as if covered in snow. I had passed several fields of oilseed rape, the usual sunshine-yellow, and then suddenly a field looking much the same but totally white. And no, it wasn't lime. The farmers round here ( central England) don't seem to need to spread lime - it seemed to be a crop. Any ideas what it could be ?

Could be white poppies, they're grow on the farm my husband works on, for the pain killer Morphine

I know the crop is not flax - there wasn't the least shade of blue in it.
Or is there a pure-white version of flax flowers ?
I doubt if it was poppies - it was just solid white blossom, about half a metre high, no leaves or soil visible.

Could it just have been daisies? We have a smallish field near to our home that is nothing but daisies at the moment, it used to be pasture for cows but the farmer seems to be 'resting' the field this year.

And, of course, a grass field left fallow will soon turn white with cow parsley, which about the height you mention. The one out of the back of this farm looks just like it's under snow.
