this morning I trod in poo while walking Parker.I clear up after my dog so other people dont tread in it,therefore I'd expect them to feel the same and clear up after their dog or dont this minority mind treading in it?Obviously no one will admit to not clearing it up but I find it hard to comprehend if its in the middle of a  path where they walk each day surely they pick it up?I dont understand!!

I have two dogs and always have a supply of plastic bags in my handbag to clear up all their offerings!   A friend's grandaughter nearly lost her sight through the disease that children can pick up from contact with dog faeces.  I forget the name of the disease.

I wish all dog owners would clear up after their animals.

I also find it disgusting at the amount of disposable nappies found in layby's etc., or even slung out of car windows in the countryside.

I work in a shop and people tie their dogs to the railings next to the door.

Lots of dogs do poos whilst waiting for their owners and you wouldn't belive how many of the owners don't clear up the mess and just leave it in the doorway.

If we knew who it was we would obviously tell them but usually the first we know of it is when a customer treads in it and leaves a trail of it all around the shop and the smell hits our noses....

I think this is a common problem lozzzz, I dont have a dog myself, but just down the road from where I live is a long ginnel, its so full of dog poo all the time that everyone around here calls it dog sh*t alley
Unfortunately, there are some very ignorant, lazy people on this planet. I wonder if they leave their dog's mess on their patios or gardens? No of course not, they prefer to leave it on public paths & in parks for people to take it home on their shoes!  Rant over!

This is what our next door neighbour's little boy David, aged 5 years old, lost his eye to way back in 1966.

Now all you inconsiderate dog owners - think again!

The word is Toxocara!
Well said all.I always clear up after my dog.Always have bags to hand when out on walkies. If everyone cleared up after themselves we would have a cleaner environment. The park where I sometimes take my dog is full of rubbish and dirty nappies! I watched a girl change a nappy once in the park and throw it under the bench when there was a bin five yards away!!

I have got a thing about this.  I think it is disgusting that Dog owners let their animals poo everywhere.  There is an alley near me that dogs toilet in all the time.  When it gets dark it is pitch black down - so god knows how you are meant to see it.  I long to a dog owner let its animal have a sh*t outside my house, because I will pick it up with a bag, follow the bloke home and post it through his letter box. Ha!

Well I like to think I am a responsible dog owner.I did cop a chap once just as I was coming down the drive with my own pooch and he let it "go" right at the bottom of our drive.I hared after him ,whipped a bag out of my pocket and said to him "I think you have forgotten something".He was very shamefaced and did go and pick it up!!

Good for you shaneystar

Some months back, we kept finding visiting cards just inside our gates, on our gravel drive. We were informed by two different neighbours, that it was a little old lady who lived at the end of our road, walking her terrier! By this time we'd had enough of treading it indoors & into our cars, so I wrote a polite but stern letter to her, saying that if she allowed her dog to empty the contents of its bowels on our drive again, we would not hesitate to report her to the local authorities. We have had no droppings since!

Ihave a dog and always take "doggie bags" out when i walk the dog.I would love a job taking a photo of these owners letting their dogs poo anywhere they like, warning signs of so called fines are no use.surely councils could employ one person for each popular spot to patrol where they know dogs are taken for walks, meaning parks etc where children play, someone could patrol  for a couple of hours each day am and pm when dogs are usually walked, i know its on the streets as well but to see it in a park where kids play ia awful. If i had a job like that i suppose i would get spoken to like a traffic warden though? lol
As a considerate dog owner I am also disgusted by the actions of some other dog owners.
What makes it even worse is when we ALL get tarred with the same brush.
I often offer one of my plastic bags to other people and so far all I have met with is an embarrassed thankyou.
It's so good to know that there are responsible, considerate dog owners around - it restores your faith somewhat! ^_^

I am a dog owner and always have nappy sacks with me. I am also as you my off guessed a post lady the amount of mess I see is quite unbeliveable in my job you either step in it or our trolly wheels run through it. but what annoys me more is the amount of people that pick it up  in plastic bags then throw it in the hedge bottoms or in my local forest   I cant understand why they do this dont they know it takes years for these bags to break down.
