Morning every one. Nice sunny day.
We met friends for a Thai.lunch yesterday then had a few drinks in the town square where a band was rehearsing for the evenings entertainment . Ww that was it. We danced even though yea olde leg was throbbing I mean one just had too
Finally came home and had a sit down shower as I dont think I could stand and flopped into my bed. Happy days. Now back to being old!!
it doesn't look as though hurricane Hannah is dropping by, there was a bit of rain yesterday but that's all.

It is the one day a year to see the bluebells of Perivale so OH is off there

I may go to see a silent film from Czechoslovakia or whatever it was called in 1920.

Hello all
Sunny on and off. Hurricane Hannah was a bit of flop here.It was just very breezy with a bit of drizzle.
I woke this morning feeling like death warmed up and a dancing stomach,so stuffed myself with drugs and went back to bed and haven't long surfaced.Oh woe and thrice woe.I must get a grip:)
The bluebells look lovely.
apparently the bluebells were really lovely today, just starting to turn, so they've got the date right. They used to hold it a week later but changing cliamte has meant they've brought it forward a week.
Mine are nearly over here. Once they have seeded and the leaves have gone over I will mow. Its been a cold day here. Tortoises are back in the spare room with the heating on
Morning all. Oh dear now Shaney has got the galloping gut rot. Get well soon!
Are you recovered now Woofy?
Was a lovely day here yesterday. We discovered ( or we discovered) a darling little bay with a plain Spanish beachbar, none of the chill-out buddha type thing. Had a lifht lunch one shandy and came home. Really enjoyed it. Mr N has gone to the other side of the island to work today. He's been home for 4 days and enough is enough!
I miss bluebells and primroses
We have fresias which are gorgeous!
Up early for blood test for thyroid. I left it until the last minute ( there are always 40 a day) went straight in and out. Went back home to bed with a cuppa. Now sitting in village having a coffee. Sunny but a tad chilly still. I love seeing the guiries (tourists) in their unsuitable clothes!!

Yes they do that here too Neti, wander about in shorts etc in the chilly easterly wind when us locals are still wearing a coat.
Had some sad news.My old schoolfriend has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers. She hasn't been right for a while now and has become very vague and forgetful so her husband finally persuaded her to have some tests.Such a shame as she's a brilliant artist and has lost all interest in it.She has commissions she can't finish etc .I'm a bit upset:(
Hope you're all ok though.Dull and chilly today after a lovely day yesterday.
Oh shaney yhat is so sad. The thing that I find most sad is that she has lost all interest in her art..was listening to Babs Windsor's husband today and he said its her terror of being alone that is The worse part ! I dread it.

.
Shaney I am so sorry to hear that. Its such a cruel disease.

Yes it is sad. She's given up teaching too.It wasn't paid work just teaching art groups to do miniatures as she's a member of the Limners Society.I mean we've all let the spuds boil dry but it was happening too often amongst other things which is why her husband talked her into going to the doctor. We've been friends for 60 years.
Yes poor old Babs. Her husband was on the One Show the other night talking about it and he and some of her fellow actors from Eastenders ran the marathon on Sunday to raise money for research. He seems to be a lovely chap.
The one thing I dread is losing my marbles.
Me too Shaney and fear I am as can't remember the answers to questions on the tv. I know I know them but it's gone!
Warmer today so ventured out in slightly lighter clothes. Have now unearthed all summer clothes and shoes and flung winter ones on top of wardrobe
Done a huge pile of summer washing now next lot and ironing.
Get car back today!

it's happened to a cousin of mine - her husband was diagnosed with dementia (not sure if it was Alzheimers) and was expecting to be nursing him for years, though she moved him to a home. But she recently was diagnosed with a brain tumour and is also fading fast. Fortunately they have two adult kids nearby to share care duties. Both pushing 80. I remember going to their wedding.
I have been shredding today, old finance stuff and letters of condolence....has to be done but not especially cheery.....anyway on a brighter note, I managed to drill a screw out of one of the doorhandles on my kitchen cupboard without marking the cupboard or myself. I fancied a change so i have put odd fancy ones all around the kitchen. All the screws came out easily but there is always one. Its cold here, have put the heating back on.
we have guests coming by for a week., I was going to pick them up from the airport but I don't think our dinky little Jazz can cope with two people and their luggage, so they will take the train - also not easy with that luggage.
Meet them and take their luggage and they can get the train unencumbered?
Morning all. Nice day here. I've got toothache in 3 teeth. I knew it was coming bit can't do much about it. One can't be filled and a root canal will be €4,000+
Will just eat painkillers forevermore!
Had to queue in 2 banks today to get our fiscal info for tax declaration. First bank only 6 waiting but took 55 mins! 2nd bank 15 people waiting took 20 mins and useless at that! Still all done now. A long time of white summer clothes now drying.
Oh lawdy the amount of ironing that awaits me!
I suggested that, woofgang, but they said they would be okay. In fact it took three hours from touchdown to arrival here 12 miles away, which is absurd - apparently there were only half a dozen immigration people dealing with a couple of jumboloads of foreigners. It seems the e-passport readers won't deal with foreigners either, which baffles me.

Ooh neti, that sounds horrible. Root canals are £62.10 here but I don't suppose you can fly over and have them done.
That s cheap jno! It's €1000 a roothere so on a molar , extortionate!
Question Author
Morning all
Dull and drizzling and it's quite chilly .
Good grief Neti ,is that gold plated root canal treatment?
Perhaps you get it done here when you come for your holiday.
Hope you're all ok otherwise .Nothing doing here.
