What is so special about muddy water

why do cats prefer skanky water. My cat can not wait to get into the shower whan i am finished, to clean up all the soapy water. She also runs for muddy puddles, stagnant ponds ect. I give her fresh water every day but she still drinks out of my pot plants too!!!! iS THERE SOMETHING US HUMANS SHOULD KNOW

Dogs/cats prefer Skanky ponds/puddles as rain water is natural water.  Tap water has floruide put in it .. even though pets drink it they'll already prefer skanky natural.

They're also not keen on detergents and dishwasher powders etc so might turn their nose up at the dishes you put out for them in favour of dragging stuff onto the floor. Used to frustrate me so much til I found out.
