I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I am looking for an alternative. Im looking into the injections from the vets but this just prevents eggs ,up till recently Frontline has always served us well. What do all you fine people use, what is the cost and how effective are your flea treatments.

Thanks

I use Advantage. It used to be prescription only, but is now available without. I get it online for around £12 for four months. Been using for over a year for both dog and cats...no complaints so far.
We're definately on the splash on Stronghold for our 3, spotted on the back of their necks every 4 weeks, and have always been flea-free in this house touch wood.
we use seresto - although they seem expensive they last for 9 months (and they really do)

Its become apparent in the past few years that Frontline is becoming less effective/fleas are becoming resistant.
agree with Pasta - Frontline no longer does the trick. It's Stronghold for us all the time now. We find Advantage far too runny.
Heehee ^^^^
The 'spot-on' stuff I use for my 5 furry friends seems to work well. It comes in a box labelled ''Vetpac prescription cat flea treatment' but the actual sachets inside it are labelled 'Activyl' (so your vet might know it as either of those names).

I have to admit to being disappointed when I first used the treatment (which needs to be renewed every 4 weeks) because it only seemed to work properly for a fortnight or so. However I decided to stay with it and the second application gave me a full 4 weeks cover (presumably because it builds up in their systems), which is why I gave them all a third dose when that period ran out last Saturday.

My vet charges £16.80 for a box containing three sachets (i.e. 12 weeks treatment if you've only got one cat).
We always use Stronghold, frontline has never been effective for our cats. It's not cheap but you get three pipettes which last three months and it's prescription only.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you all. Ive recently been told that all this "Frontline is not working anymore" has started since it has been announced that Frontline is not going to be prescription/controlled anymore. Not sure I totally believe that, but we got our house sprayed, used up the last of our Frontline and so far so good, its been nearly 3 weeks now. Hopefully with British Summertime 'unofficially' ended things will calm down too.

Thanks everyone
