Wasp Sting

Where has it been stung?
Is it well in itself....breathing OK?

Then remove the sting, don't use tweezers, scrape it out and place a pad of gauze or some such dressing, soaked in vinegar.

He should be fine.

If you can find the sting and your dog will let you then I can vouch for the vinegar treatment, you'll need to hold it on for a while. Keep an eye on him and he should be fine, you know your dog and if he seems unwell at all get him to the vet straight away.

If his eyelids and lips begin to swell, he will need an antihistamine> that happened to my dog last week and After ringing the vets I gave her 4mg Piriton tablet, chlorophenamine maleate.

She then went to the vet and was given a steroid injection. Keep you eye on him.

best thing is to remove the sting with a credit card or similar - gently scrape it out. If you use tweezers, often the venom sac is squeezed and more venom is introduced.

If it was a wasp sting i don't think you can take it out,as the "sting" is not left in,like a bee sting .is
