Tonight I have found some droppings about an inch long browny green and wet looking, in the top of my garden compost bin. There is a quite obvious "Tunnel" leading into the grass cuttings, which I don't want to disturb! I know it could be a rat but the droppings do seem quite thick unlike the usual "Style" of Rat splat one sees! I was hoping maybe Weasel or Stoat, to create a talking point! I live in a quiet urban area but the rear garden is surrounded by both other gardens and houses and is rather secretive and quiet! Does anyone have any ideas? I can post a photo later, wuurp, as my son just said!
Hedgehog faeces are usually dark brown//black, slimy about an inch long and 1/3 inc wide tapering unevenly at the ends. They are usually deposited singly, not in heaps.
then when it's done, copy the link on the left that says "URL for email and IM" and paste it in here as an answer.
I think you have to type something as well if you post a link.
More evidence this morning, 1 large melon rind gone, 3 large field mushroom stalks gone and more poo! I think this is going to turn out to be rats knowing my luck! Not that I don't like rats, I was just wishing for Grass Snakes or Mrs Tiggywinkle and her fambo!
Thanks all, I'm going with a rat due to the access being through a very small gap under the compost bin where the bottom meets the uneven flag stones it sits on!
