Hi,  I am lucky to have a well neglected garden which harbours many form of wildlfe  including slow worms.I know they have the protection of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, do I have to notify any authority that they are here?  I will be moving soon and while I have told the new owner about them, I am concerned they will come off worse in the event of landscaping.

You do not have to notify the new owner - might be nice to let them know - some people really like them*.

*ok, I like them.

oh goldfish 100 , they are lovely little critters with the most gorgeous faces. They look like they are smiling! Do you think when I move I can relocate a few with me? I do not think they will be as welcome when I move as I have made them!!!!
The best thing to do is to notify your local Wildlife Trust so that they can keep an eye on the slow worms for you.

You can find your local Trust here:
