I am with Islay. Adult dogs chew because they are stressed. My guess is that this little girl is stressed because she is left alone too long.....Stop the stress and the chewing will stop.

hereIam, they have their uses. Some dogs love them as a den. I had one for mine when they were puppies and taught then to be in there while I did things like vaccuum or shower as I was on my own with them. As they got older and didn’t need to be watched all the time, I took the door off but they never liked to sleep in there or be in there so we put it away. They still travel in one in the car.
sorry I forgot. JJ, for travelling the crate needs to be big enough for the dog to stand up, sit up, lie down at full stretch and generally move about. It also needs to fit quite snugly in the car or be fastened in so it doesn’t slide around. I prefer a crate to a dog guard because it gives me more control over getting the dogs in and out of the car, there is no risk of accidentally catching a paw or tail with the back door and I can sit in carparks with the windows and back door open to keep the car cooler. I can also use part of the car back for storage and put things like food shopping in without the dogs being able to help themselves.
