The vet's never seen this before...she had sores/ulcers all over. They just seemed to be scabs through her fur. She's been shaved, given 14 day antibiotics jab, and I need to treat the wounds with Manuka honey. She's back on Monday...and then tests for possible feline leukaemia or aids.
I just want to cry...wish I'd taken her sooner...though that may not have made a difference.
I think the blood tests will come on Monday. He said he couldn't even give her pain relief yet as it might compromise the healing process. She's a bit perkier since having the antibiotics.
It's very worrying when a vet says he's never seen it before.
Also...one of her pupils is different from the other. Possibly due to an ear infection from the sores.
Thanks all...she slept all afternoon. As a cat should. I've just applied some honey to the ulcers and attempted to get a bit of oralade in her. A bit of freshly cooked chicken later.
Oh I do hope she'll be OK. How old is she pasta? Supervet used Manuka honey to great effect on a little dog this week. Amazing stuff. Everything crossed for you here as well:-)
I really do mot expect her to pull through.
She's probably in a worse state than she was 24 hours ago. Very weak, she not eaten and its a struggle to get the oralade in her...and more scabby sores are appearing. God knows what this is...but I think she needs to be released from it.
I'm crying as I type this...I just want to help her... I just wish I could make her better.
Oh Pasta. How awful. I had similar with a cat. Her fur fell out and she was covered in blisters/scabs. After several months of tests, it was identified that she had a thyroid problem - vet had never seen anything quite like it.
ASBO and I will keep our paws/fingers crossed for your furbaby.
Don't give up on her pasta. My daughters cat came home with a broken jaw one day.The vet couldn't make out if he had been run over or kicked about by some thugs. We felt sure he would have to be put down, but after the op to set his jaw, he eventually recovered and went on to live for many years after. x
