I have told this tale before, I was arrested for disrupting a hunt in Herts many years ago, the police took us , abot 6 of us, into the back of their van and told us they fully agreed with us but he would have to show some kind of action..so he shouted very loudly at us before quietly saying next time don't get caught !
When I was the manager of The Fox on the Hill in south London, many years ago, we had a large beer garden at the back.
We used to have a family of foxes appear after closing time, and eat up all the snacks etc, the public had left, which made the gardener a very happy man.
I had an experience similar to mm's when I was a hunt sab. in my youth. The police were out in force and I told them what I thought about them for trying to stop us, to a man they said that they agree with us, but had to come out because (then) hunting was legal and they had to enforce the law.
///Chipper...it is, but the Hunts have been getting around the ban for many years, much to the disgrace of the various authorities concerned.
Its a bloody disgrace.///
