I have a cream carpet and I am getting a cat flap soon. How can you stop your cat trending in wet dirty paws when your out? At the moment he gets towel dryed when he comes and he hates it!!

I dont think you can!

If the cat flap comes into a kitchen then keep the kitchen door shut.

Cats and cream carpets really dont mix!  Change the colour!!?

Is this a trick question?

Everyone knows my opinion about this, but I'll say it any way, and I'll make sure to type it large so it's easy to read.

KEEP THEM INSIDE AND: THEY WON'T TRACK IN DIRT, mess up gardens, yours or your neighbors, get into territorial fights, scratch and destroy things, get fed by everyone, keeps them safe and healthier.

there now, I feel better thank you.

Can you put a bunch of towels, paper? at the door so he has to tread on those instead of your carpet?

But really? is this a trick question?

What about putting a mat down just inside and outside the door to take most of the mud off his feet just while you are out?
If you leave your cat out then you can get a cat flat which you can lock but obviously he/she would not be able to get in. Which I suppose defeats the object of a cat flap. Or you would have to keep it in and just use the cat flap when you were at home. There isn't an answer really

the best thing since attacking your pet with a towel everytime they walk through the door. No I have not got shares in the company

Hi Bottom, yes I have to agree with woofgang Turtlemats are brilliant. I've got 2 cats and used to have paw prints all over my kitchen floor. Since having turtlemats I don't have a messy floor any more!

drgnrdr, you can't start locking up a cat that is used to going out. That's just so cruel!

It's a living, breathing creature. How would you like it if all of a sudden, you were locked up forever....

Perhaps you should be

Okay "snap", at least I helped Bottom with a suggestion, but since I don't live in the UK, I suggested something to put on the floor to have the cat track on, not knowing what you have over there I could not suggest an exact thing to use, but, since I was the first to suggest putting something on the floor, woofgang followed my lead and had an item that would work pretty well it sounds like. So at least I was helpful. No matter what my personal views are.

And you suggested what??????mmm don't seem to see anything here at this time.....

It looks nice woofgang....Hope they help you Bottom.

drgk...(ah who cares!)

I suggested that you are locked up.

READ POSTS you numpty

That's N, U, M, P, T,Y.

Snap: I did read posts, but apparently you did not read Bottoms post, your post was irrelevant to the thread, it was only aimed at me, not helping Bottom.

I refuse to match wits with you, it wouldn't be fair to you, since you are apparently unarmed. Have a nice day....

Sorry Bottom...
