What is your thoughts on them? I just used one for the 1st time and its great when over the fields, but just as I got near to home someone with 2 dogs came round the corner, and my dog pulled toward them, I couldnt draw it in and put the lock on quick enough, tried to pull him back and the lead sliced through my finger, my 1st and last time I think.

I know of a dog that ran into the road and got hit by a car because the owner couldn't lock the lead quickly enough and in another incident, a dog on one of these leads started running around trying to play with my dog who was off lead (in the park) and to my horror it got stuck around her leg and I will never forget her screams as the other dog carried on running and the lead tightened on her leg. Luckily the other dog's owner got to her and unwound it. I will never use one of these.
Work of the devil.
There is a woman who lives near me who walks four dogs on these things (each about ten yards long when extended). Two of her dogs walk ten yards in front of her, one follows ten yards behind and the fourth seems to walk where he likes (usually the other side of our narrow cul-de-sac).
Whenever she walks by I have to wait ten minutes for her charges to dawdle along, sniffing and cocking their legs, before I can leave my property.

It's the owners as usual, not the dogs and not the leads.
Used properly and sensibly they are fine.
NJ the woman you mention sounds like a total idiot.
Never had a slobbering pooch so wouldn't know Diddly. A slobbering pooch is a slobbering pouch whether it's on or off a lead. Not a dog lover then I would guess?
