I just love moggies and this story warmed my heart.
A Dundee family are over the moon after finding their pet cat in a shelter – five years after he disappeared. Christine and her son Charlie were distraught when black and white moggie Curtis went out and never came back after they moved house, despite being kept indoors for a few weeks. However, recently there was a surprise on Facebook’s Missing Pets Dundee and Angus page – a cat which looked just like Curtis had been found. It was him but where the bold boy has been for the past 5 years will remain a mystery. Love a happy ending.

What a lovely story, a nice happy ending.
awwwww....
how on earth did they know it was him, or was he chipped...
He may have gone back to the previous house. When I was a boy we moved 50 miles and took our cat Prudence with us. After a few days she went missing. I can't remember how long after that it was but our neighbour at the old house rang my mother to say that Prudence had turned up. The neighbour was happy to take her in and my mother took the view that she'd rather let Prudence be happy where she was
Cats don't forget, even if some people do.

Next-door-neighbour had a kitten; cared for it for a few years. New baby came along, decided baby and cat didn't mix. Threw the cat out (literally). Cat came to live with us.

For a long time (couple of years) cat used to sit on the front lawn, watching 'his' front door open and close, watching 'his' people come in and out.

Now neighbour has moved, and cat has settled with us. But what on earth goes through an animal's mind? How does it reconcile being cared for, then NOT being cared for? Cats are sensitive and intelligent, but I'm not sure how they could cope with that.

Sorry, not that relevant to original post, except to say I'm glad, too, that cats find their people.
