Can anyone identify this? I ternet search has not yielded any results. Double wings are odd.

Do you really think it's that, skippers are really small? Your pic looks like something large and spectacular. I thought it was some kind of exotic hawkmoth.

It’s very close up. It was about 25mm long.
I thought it was a Skipper, Zacs.......you will let us know if you confirm?..x
Is that clover it is resting on? The size, colouring and banded antennae certainly resemble a small skipper.
Possibly on cornflower ?

It’s a small skipper. And the plant is a thistle.
^ Or knapweed.
Oops - sorry, cross post, yes of course its a thistle! i can see that now.
