For those interested, Bobbie didn't have his x-ray last week as he wasn't well enough to take the anaesthetic. He had it today instead and VD has been ruled out and a Stroke confirmed. There is no treatment except he is having steroid injections as he won't take his pills. The vet agrees with me he seems a happy boy, not in pain, (he was nudging the vet to stroke him), so as long as he stays that way we will continue to give him any support he needs. If things change then a different decision may have to be made but at the moment we are all happy. All except the dog who couldn't care less.

Thank you ladies I shall tell him. I've got to get him to eat but no luck so far. Perhaps tomorrow when his jab should be working.
One thing I forgot to say was that this vet confirmed that he is totally blind in his right eye. I had hoped that might have improved. What a brave boy he is. Gosh what a sob story, oh dear. xxxxxx
You obviously love your cat very much, LB. I can understand why you are doing so much to try to help him. Best wishes to both of you. x
I'm sure we can all understand, lb, that you need to give him every chance you can. Don't feel guilty, we are all human, and you are clearly trying your best for him. I hope things go well xx
How is the puss please? Doing well I hope. x

Oh thank you for asking Willow. It's now 48 hours since he had the injection so if it's going to work it should be working now. He is eating, but nowhere near what he used to eat. He'll probably ask for more in a while and if he can make it two packets today then I will be pleased. He's pottered around, even been outside in the strong wind but is having a sleep at the moment. So I'd say he's doing OK'ish, not brilliantly, and not quite as well as I had hoped, so I shall continue monitoring the situation. If I think he's not happy I will do the right thing. xx
Pixie and Tilly, thank you both as well. xx
So pleased to hear he's still hanging on in there LB, hope he continues to improve, albeit slowly. x
Thank you for the update LB, Ziggy and I were wondering how Bobbie is doing ...sounds like little steps forward in recovering, but they are forward, great news!

Sending you both our very best wishes, keep us posted if you can...xxx
Hang on in there, Bobbie. Glad to hear there is an improvement, ladybirder.
Your boy loves you and will continue to do his best. X

I'm stressed again. He ate a little bit more last night but this morning nothing so far. Asked for it but one lick at two different foods and walks away.

Other than not eating or drinking he's walking about, loving, interested, sitting in the garden and moving his head watching what's going on. How do I get him to eat?

Just had a text message from my friend who rescued him and she's her way here to see him. It'll be good to have her opinion because I am now fearing the worst and I value her opinion.
Teaspoon of sardine, tuna, chicken, beef, ham, scrambled egg, cheese, salmon on plates in various places. See what happens. Good luck

It is hard to know what to do for the best when it comes to a furry friend. I hope that your friend can help you to work out what to do. I am sure that you have done everything that I could possibly suggest.

Bobbie - eat you ******* food. ♥♥
Question Author
calm tried all of those, including scrambled egg this morning. Thank you. I can't put food everywhere or the dog will eat it;) Since I started writing this he has had three or four pieces of Lily's Kitchen kibble and licked some cream, so that is a bit of moisture.
I have Wolf thank you. I've just told him you said to "eat you ****ing food". Bless LOL.
My friend has arrived. She was taken ill on the way here and is lying on the bed in agony with stomach pain. She's just been sick and as she was getting up off the floor the toilet lid came down and hit her in the face. No I'm not making this up.
Good grief, you are having a time of it - I have a spare uniform if you like.
Question Author
Mamya I can't stop laughing it sounds so ridiculous. I know I shouldn't. It's probably hysterics!
Oh! Poor friend...poor you...and poor Bobbie! I suspect your laughter is a release from all your current stress.
Sorry that Bobbie is only eating tiny amounts...but his continued interest in the world around him is a very positive thing. Take hope from that. xx
Question Author
Thank you Pasta but I fear it's the end for him. His eating is not improving and he is getting so thin. I've made an appointment with the same vet we saw on Thursday for 12.30pm today.
