For those interested, Bobbie didn't have his x-ray last week as he wasn't well enough to take the anaesthetic. He had it today instead and VD has been ruled out and a Stroke confirmed. There is no treatment except he is having steroid injections as he won't take his pills. The vet agrees with me he seems a happy boy, not in pain, (he was nudging the vet to stroke him), so as long as he stays that way we will continue to give him any support he needs. If things change then a different decision may have to be made but at the moment we are all happy. All except the dog who couldn't care less.

LB and Bobbie - I am going to my voluntary job soon and don't know when I will crawl back home.

Best wishes to both of you - with love from Frankie and Susan x
So sorry to read this. :(
I know you'll do what is best for Bobbie. xx
So sorry about your Bobbie LB ... our Fergus was the same - we tried everything, even special food from the vet which we tried to feed him with a syringe, but it was too distressing. He was loving to the end, but we had to accept that it was his time. He is still here, buried in the sunniest part of the garden with a Forget-me-not flourishing round his little memorial. x
Sorry to see this, Ladybirder - it's heartbreaking when your cat is "not him/her self" & struggling to fight. My very best wishes to you both x
Ladybirder I'm so sorry it has come to this point, it's heartbreaking and very little comfort to know you've done everything possible for Bobbie but he loves you and he'll always be with you ....love from Steff and Ziggy who is lying on me right now as we settle down for the night xx
Have been following your sad tale of Bobby.
So sorry to hear he is not getting better.
I hope you will get some good news today.
If not my, and many others cat lovers, thoughts will be with you.
It's not easy saying goodbye to a very special friend and part of the family.
Best wishes. x

Thank you Wolf, Pasta, Ann, LiK and seekeerz.
My sweet loving Bobbie was euthanised an hour ago. Purring till the end. He so deserved longer than 4 years.
The support I've had from AB members has been a great comfort, knowing you are all animal lovers on this thread and understand how I have been trying to deal with this dilemma. Thank you all so much. Have a big hug from me. xxxxxxxx
Safe journey Bobbie.

Please have a cyber hug from me. {{{HUG}}}
Oh, that’s so sad. I am really sorry for your loss but I’m glad that he’s not suffering any more.
Awww LB. How sad. So sorry. x
Oh no, not what I was hoping for, poor baby. I'm so sorry to read this LB, know what you're going through x
So sorry to hear that it’s ended this way.
Sleep well little one xx
Ladybirder: of course he was purring. Love crosses boundaries; even that final boundary.

May my tears be a tribute to your love for each other.

So sorry LB :(
LB I'm so very sorry. You fought so hard for him and left no stone unturned xx
Let me come in when you are weeping friend,
I who have known a sorrow such as yours,
can understand.

Let me come in - I would be very still
beside you in your grief.
I would not bid you cease your weeping friend,
tears can bring relief.

Let me come in - I would only breathe a prayer,
and hold your hand.
For I have known a sorrow such as yours,
And understand.

Thinking of you and dear little Bobbie lb xx
So sorry to hear. Take care.
Really sorry, lb xx life can be very unfair. Remember you did your absolute best, up to and including the end. I hope you are ok xxx
