I'm not even going to read it, LB.
Ladybirder, I think we just have to accept that hospital blunders do happen. And that, sometimes, just sometimes, the afterbirth is kept by mistake.
Mindless, no words.
I'm not angry, I'm apoplectic. They probably laughed their thick scummy heads off while they did it as well. Poor man, poor bees. At least he's got a GoFundMe page, so hopefully he can recoup, but those bees are lost forever. Makes me sick!

Tilly, there's nothing any worse to see or read that's not in my heading. It has ruined the owner whose business it was.
Ken they probably enjoyed doing it the bustards.
And, reading the link, it would certainly appear that this vandalism has been done very recently. While in one sentence it says that the damage could have been done anytime between Easter and now, another goes on to say that without a functioning hive, "all 630,000 would likely be dead within a few hours. Maybe the police ought to be concentrating on their local deadheads, paying particular attention to those with multiple bee stings?
Why? Just why? What does anyone get from doing something like that? Cretins!
mindless morons should be thrashed to within an inch of their worthless lives.
Surely if anyone disturbed that many bees they would be attacked by the bees? The man was not checking his hives -he hadn't been there since Easter. He might have been able to save them if he'd been going daily to check them. Why was a Hive Inspector there? More to this story than meets the eye I reckon.
Utterly appalling.
here's one for you, what would you do if it turned out to be one of your kids? I really don't know what I'd do, I'd definitely turn them in of course but beyond that, I don't know. This sort of thing makes my blood boil.

They are so precious and we desperately need all the bees we can get. No chance of getting them I suppose as they don't even know when it was done. Unless they've been bragging about it.
My sentiments as well Margie. I didn't see they'd started a Go Fund Me but good I don't think there will be a problem getting the required amount of money.
But I want to see the culprits pay for what they did.
I would have thought (hoped) the bees would have attacked any vandals. Could the destruction have been weather-related, we've had some really strong winds (with severe gusting) across the South lately.

Note: This is not a defence of vandalism, before the usual suspects flock in.
so it's the bloke's own fault is it APG? seriously?
Question Author
APG I wondered that but thought it might be a vulnerable person who couldn't get out but then you'd think they would ask someone from the Beekeepers Association to check on them. I understand they are very helpful to each other.
I don't know how often a beekeeper should check on their bees.
//here's one for you, what would you do if it turned out to be one of your kids? //

It wouldn't be any of mine a) they are no longer 'kids' and b) they were brought up properly.
I'm going to donate lb. If this was done a while ago, they may never catch them, but what, I wonder, will happen to them if they are caught?? Not much probably.
TTT //so it's the bloke's own fault is it APG? seriously? //

Don't be ridiculous
It could have been stormy weather, the man was not checking his bees on a daily basis therefore he has to take partial responsibility. They must have been very thick vandals to push over Bee Hives
Question Author
Yes they wouldn't take long to smash up but if they had been checked on the day after they could probably have saved quite a lot as they would be hanging around. Pity whoever did it didn't get stung to death.
