Yes feels has come up with a list of unfavoured (by us) names. My husband refuses to have a dog called fluffy

What type did you go for?

Met someone in the park who's dog was called Alan, it made me smile so much that i vowed if ever i was to get another dog i would call him that.

However it could be a good idea to find a name that seems to match your dog's looks. (As an analogy, one of my cats is called Chequers because he's black and white, like a chequers board. One of his brothers is called Moonbeam because the beautiful markings on his coat reminded me of the patterns made on the ground by clouds scudding across the moon).

Oh, I love border collies. I hope that you realise that they need several hours exercise every day though!

Oh i love Border Collies i used to have one, they do need a lot of exercise and stimulation but are very intelligent.

I used to spend most weekends going to Agility competitions with her and training her in the week, but i was much younger and fitter back then. Wouldn't be able to do it now.

PS: Many years ago, my friend got a beautiful male border collie from a rescue centre. It was called 'Laddie', presumably because that's the male equivalent of the film star Lassie's name. I always liked the name, so perhaps that's another one for you to consider?

"Fluffy" has a good pedigree (pun intended) - it was what Hagrid called the three-headed giant dog in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone. A very macho dog ;-)
