oh and PS pixie, it was your argument that horse racing is ok because they are bred to do it.
I have bought a few wx-racehorses, woof... as have several of my friends. The difference is, that racing is not violent and not intending to injure anyone, although it can be dangerous. I guess we could stop breeding racehorses altogether.... but we can't pretend they don't have the instincts and desire to race.
Yes.
But racing, if I'm understanding your point... is not aggressive or violent. They want to do it. Fighting dogs may want to... but we know the point is that they will get hurt. It just isn't the same idea.
the horses are deliberately bred to want to do it (by your own admission) same as the fighting dogs.
Woof... we all do, and are allowed to do... things that may be risky. I see that differently, from something that is actually designed to be violent.
I don't think we will agree on this... but I'm going by about 40 years of experience, (and as an animal lover.)

I'm just laughing at the fact that Polly thinks I don't know what dressage is.

btw...I hate horse racing too.

Don't you start:-)
What a lovely dressage event, shame it’s ruined by knobby and aunt polly attempt at sniping
To add some levity, one of my favourite sketches by Eddie.

Who's knobby?
Love that, mamya :-)
Where's knobby?
Any excuse that can be found for her to have a pop, Ummmm......but you're far from alone in that.... :-)
Some people just think they know better, and can't help announcing it again...and again...and again.
I have no idea what's going on. If I have said something, please tell me x

but we as humans have a choice and race horses do not...and no this is one subject we will never agree on unless you change your mind.

Pixie - my dad was a gambling addict (horses) so I hated it before I'd even thought about the rights or wrongs.
The gambling side is understandable, ummmm... i was never involved with that. Do you think, that it hadn't been racing, it might have been something else? (Genuine question).

Woof, I don't think we will agree then. I don't know how much experience you have with racehorses, but mine says they are much happier for it. Again, the only answer, I think would be for them never to exist at all. It's one or the other, really.
