When I got Maxie about 5 years ago from an owner who had neglected him (I didn't know) I brought him to the vets and for a wee groom and I never looked at his medical book until yesterday to make sure he had got his injections etc last Monday.
I do recall when I lifted him years ago I said to myself - boy he feels like a wee pigeon - guess what he was that weight of 2.3kg which is 5lbs. A wee bird.
Now he is up to 8 kg which could be thought a bit heavy but he is now all grown up and is a medium sized dog. He was a very ill dog when I got him. And he was 6 months old. Was that a very low weight - do you think?
2.3kg seems quite a low weight to me. It's less than most cats weight, even small ones. (The smallest of my cats weighed 4.1kg when I last weighed her, which was probably nearly a year ago. The biggest weighed 7.1kg at that time but I suspect that he's closer to 8kg now).
when I look back I don't think that last owner fed him as for many weeks after I got him he vomited all the food everywhere, I now think my food has been too heavy for him and that he wasn't used to it. He's great now tho.
I think that was a very low weight, and I think the fact that he is up to 8 kg now means that you have made a major difference to him. Lucky wee Maxie. He has found his saviour. Well done to you, you should be proud of what you have achieved for Maxie.
