My beautiful boy Bruno was attacked in the park this morning by a much bigger dog. It came from nowhere around a bend and just launched itself at my boy grabbing hold of his neck. Bruno is a big dog too but as gentle as a lamb but he tried to fight this dog off. There was blood everywhere and he was screaming at one terrible point our eyes locked and his were pleading. I tried and tried to kick the brute off him and I was yelling and yelling for help. There was nobody a sould around and the dog seemed to be alone. Then as suuddenly as it appeared it ran off and disappeared and my boy was lying mortally wounded on the ground and crying pitifully. I was still screaming and screaming for help and two men on the other side of the path heard me and came running over. They were wonderful, they picked him up between them ever so gently and we went to the flat of one of them and got his car. Bruno is now at the emergency vet's in a very, very bad way. The vet doesn't hold out too much hope as the injuries are horrendous. He is drugged up to the eyeballs so he won't be feeling pain. She has sent me home so I can clean myself up, I'm covered in b ood and told me to go back when I feel up to it and she will ease him gently on his way. I can't believe it, I can't believe it. He was well and happy this morning and now he's at death's door becasue of a vicious dog that seemed to be running around on its own. Where's the owner ????? What can I do, I can't report it to the police, they are not interested in dog on dog attacks - pity I didn't get bitten, they would have acted then. I live alone that dog was my life, my woofer I called him and now he's leaving me and he won't want too, he won't want too Oh God, Oh God. Help me Please help me. I'll never get over this, I'll see it in my minds eye for the rest of my days and I'll hear his screams. And his eyes oh God his eyes. My beautiful, friendly boy. My boy. I'm in so much pain.

Yes Pasta right - I saw the answers before they were removed and the poster immediately realised he’d posted on the wrong thread and could his comments please be removed. All perfectly innocent.

Good morning all. I am Jayne, 'margie's' sister. The police came last night, a lovely woman pc and she was very helpful, she thinks the dog and owner are known to them and they will make enquiries and keep us informed. margie is, what can I say, utterly distraught and unable to post. I am very worried about her, she adored Bruno, we all did, he was such a good dog and did not deserve his horrible death. margie will take a very long time to recover from this as the reality hits more and more and I thank you all very much for your concern. It doesn't seem right that Bruno is not here where he belongs. Hard times to come for my dear sister. If we hear anything positive from the police, I will let you know. Thank you again.
Only just seen this, how dreadful, I can only imagine how you feel. I’m so very sorry.
I am so pleased the police attended. I hope they are able to do something to stop this happening to another beautiful dog
Thank you Jaynes, please tell Margie we are all with her in her sadness , her tragic post about Bruno has touch nearly all on AB, sending her healing thoughts and peace of mind

I have been away from AB for a few days and have only just seen this.

I am so sorry for your loss as it will take you quite a while to get over this but please try to concentrate on the good times you had together. Not easy at the moment I am sure. Such a dreadful thing to happen. I am pleased you have your sister there to give you support.
I do hope the police manage to deal with this other dog before any more damage is done to either another dog or a child. It sounds as though it is dangerous and completely out of control
I wish you well and send my thoughts of sympathy and condolence to you.
Sorry I just can't think of anything else to say.

Only just read your tragic post - really awful
Such a terrible shock for you, so sorry for you all.
I do hope the police can catch the perpetrator before it
does any more harm
How utterly heartbreaking for you ilm. I would like to join the other ABers in expressing my sincere condolences for you to have suffered such a devastating loss in such an horrific manner.

I wish you all the very best and hope that you can find some solace somewhere, and that the Police can bring to account the feckless article who allowed his animal to carry out this awful attack.
ILM, I haven't really been on AB in the last few days so I've only just read your desperately sad news. Poor, poor Bruno. I am devastated for you but at the same time I am simply unable to comprehend the depth of your anguish, the scale of your despair and the sheer enormity of your pain and sorrow. Only time will heal and that time may be slow and lengthy, but however long it takes, Bruno's beautiful, gentle soul will be waiting for you on the other side.

Nothing will ever take away your mutual love and devotion.

You are in my thoughts xx
Thank you Jayne. Please let Margie know that she is in my thoughts. She actually hasn’t been out of them since I read the original post. I hope she can get some peace.
thank you for posting Jayne, our thoughts are with you both at this awful time. I am glad you got the police involved, perhaps they can apprehend the person who owns this dog. And matters take their course. Take care both of you....
Getting the police involved is a step towards catching the beast that was out of control and its irresponsible owner. It will also mean justice is done and a bit of peace of mind for you, ilm. Please take care of yourself, take time to both grieve and remember the good times. Time will heal.

Thank you, Jayne. I wonder if Margie might consider having a word with her doctor? Losing a beloved pet in normal circumstances is hard enough, but this is horrendous - an unimaginable waking nightmare and she needs to take care of herself. Something to help her get some rest at least might help a little. x
Truly awful.
Thanks for the update Jayne, wishing you both a peaceful weekend. So glad the police were contacted, because these things are very rarely a one off and it might just prevent it happening again.
