Puppy Pees, But Only For Me!

My son has a 16 week old puppy who has been clean indoors for many weeks.

BUT.. when i visit which is about twice a week (so he's seen me quite a few times) he gets so exciting he pees himself when i come in. They have quite a few visitors but he doesn't do it for anyone else.

They don't really mind as they have a tiled floor in the hall but just curious as to why its only me.

He probably regards other humans as just creatures of interest, whereas he views you as a 'member of his family pack'. (He might be able to recognise your genetic link to your son from your unique smell).

Do you show excitement also? He may be responding to that, though peeing when excited is common in pups. Be calm, and don't encourage his excitement. He'll most likely grow out of it.

Pasta no its the complete opposite, i walk in calmly and dont fuss him untill he sits nicely as im trying to teach him not to jump up.

I would suggest, as you know what will happen- that when you walk in, you walk straight out into the back garden, so when he does pee, it's in the right place. And give him lots of fuss and treats when he does.
It seems, he knows, but gets overexcited with you arriving, so, just help him get it right.

Or- the opposite. Mine used to wet herself with nerves when I first got her. If you are walking in and ignoring him until he sits... perhaps it's making him nervous. If he is a puppy and not used to that.
