Toads have a warty appearance and walk, frogs are smoother and hop.
Give it a kiss and if it turns into a prince it was a frog. If the prince turns out to be Prince Harry ... it was a toad.
^ LOL.

It jumped so I assume it was a frog although I can't think how it came to be inside my house. It was a pale colour and seemed pointy, Could there be others?
Do you have a cat or dog. They can bring them in but not often. If your door was open it could have hopped in
More likely to be a toad I would think as they can live in dry stone walls, soil etc.
Toads hop, by the way.
Toads know that we sometimes leave our door keys under the 'Welcome' mat. Frogs are too busy reading (reddit, reddit) to even notice the Welcome mat.
We have umpteen frogs in the garden, particularly in evidence on wet nights. I shine a bright torch around and see their little eyes all over the place.
Frogs are more pointy, toads are more rounded
If you have a pond, its rare to find frogs will venture far from it. Toads don't need a pond. When I was a child, my neighbour used to dump her husband's smelly socks outside of her back door. For some reason the toads loved them. Many a time she called me in to take away a toad that had taken shine to them. My grandfather used to unearth toads in his potato fields when the workers dug up the potatoes.
The only way to dentify it is to give it really tiny false teeth.
