I was pleased to see a family group of 4 or 5 mistle thrushes come into my garden, sadly one was eaten by a predator (just the wings and legs left) but those remaining are doing a good job of keeping the snails down, I wouldn't want to step on those broken shells, barefoot though.

How lovely to have thrushes in your garden. I haven't seen one for years. Pity about the dead one (sounds like a cat) but hope the others do well.
I have sparrows on their second brood and blackbirds feeding young.
Always have goldfinches etc but also get a bullfinch pair around which is lovely. Also saw a jay in my son's garden. Very unusual around here.

I know that jays are often seen in pairs, so hopefully it may return with a friend, all we can do is try to attract them with a safe place to feed.
