I have had tropical fish for a few years now and have always know Silver Sharks to be quite placid, however, just recently my current SS has become a little sod.

We have several baby Balloon Mollies, which we decided to release from the fry net, to my horror a couple of hours later he ate one! He also seems to be a little more territorial than usual, is it because he is on his own or is it just him?

I have consulted all the books and nothing is said about this, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced it?

Silver sharks are far happier in shoals....add a couple more and hopefully yours will settle down (i'd probably add another 3 similar sized fish all at the same time).

Like most fish, they are omnivorous are are opportunist feeders. If a small fish comes along and they can fit it in their (reasonably sized) mouths, they will eat it. They are generally not aggressive or terratorial but, as in all animal species, you can get the odd rogue.....especially as the fish gets older.

Make sure you're feeding well and you're giving it the correct food and conditions and you shouldn't get too many problems
