So, they see you concentrating on TV, computer, book, sex or whatever, and want to intervene. The TV trick is a feline double reward as the vantage point is warm and cosy. They soon realise that you can't stand the tail in front of the screen and give out the "Oh puss you naughty thing. Who's a lovable puss then?" whilst removing them. Puss will go on to repeat the exercise to remind you what you really should be concentrating on.
Solution:
Put piece of cardboard on top of TV with a small hole near the edge of the card. Tie string through hole and let it drape down side of set. Puss jumps up and comes to rest on card. You pull string slowly to one side and eventually puss gets that unsteady feeling and a nanosecond before falling from the collapsing card at the side of the TV jumps down. Repeat until puss associates top of TV with journeys into oblivion and stops it.
