What mammal has the highest occurance of homosexuality?

This is a question on a quiz im doing, the answer isnt man or humans

i reckon it could be the pygmy chimp cos theyre at it all day long as part of their bonding programme. mother/son father/son brother/sister the full works about 20 times a day. there should be a law against it.

You beat me to it dilf - I watched a wild life programme about them on Discovery some time back & they were at it all the time, with whoever took their fancy!

Aaaarrrrgggg - I'm terrified of any kind of bats, so could never face watching any programmes on them. My husband, daughters & Grandchildren think it's hilarious & tease me with pictures, or toy ones at any given opportunity - little rascals!

An interesting side-debate. I would suggest that the 'homo' part of the word homosexual pertains to the sexual preference as in heterosexual meaning different sex, not to 'Men' as a species. pretty much the same occurs in other words such as homozygous and heterozygous.

The Bonobo (pygm) chimp does indeed use sex as an bonding act, but not in a homosexual way. Well, no more than other species anyway.

I can not imagine that the fruitbat participates in true homosexual acts as it is the best 'endowed' mammal in the animal kingdom, the male's intromission organ being 40% or more of total body length!

wildwood above is right - 'homo' is nothing to do with humans, but is from the Greek for 'same' - as in 'homogeous', 'homophone' and words like that.

Homo (with a capital) is what is used in Homo erectus, Homo sapiens sapiens, and so on. Though i'm pretty sure it's got the same etymology.
