This has to be the best webcam ever for birdy addicts! The server had crashed thanks to thousands of local radio listeners who were given this link, but now it's up and running again. WARNING - it's addictive!!!

Oh Cetti, again, thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I couldn't believe it earlier - I had the speakers & full screen on. Edwina was sitting quietly, then suddenly turned round, got up & started squawking really loudly. My husband heard it too & came in to have a look. Whatever she could hear or see, she was very fiercely warding it off!

She's moved the eggs around a couple of times this evening - can't wait for them to hatch! Can't wait to see Ezzy either!

Question Author

I'm hoping just for a bit that it might be taking your mind off other things smudge.

Yes, I heard her squawking. My dear husband thought it was me calling him....!!! No egg sightings yet but I did see her fussing around the nesting materials. Has anyone see her eat yet? Does Ezzy feed her or perhaps they swop over to give her a break?

Question Author

If you want a change from Edwina have a look at this link: http://www.wildweb.de/cameras/mainframe.htm and click on Ospreys in North Carolina.

It's not quite the quality of the Eagle cam but it is showing a pair Of Ospreys at the nest.

OMG!! Have just seen Ezzy take over!! Edwina had a lot of calling, and you could hear him all around!...That went on for about 30-40 mins...They were making so much noise my 2 wee cats woke up!...She suddenly looked almost at the camera..turned round, got up...two eggs left exposed for about 5 seconds..and in he came!! He settled himself quite carefully...Wow...feel privileged! Will go to bed happy now!....He looks to be definetely bigger in size.

Morning again - thanks for the Osprey link Cetti, will give that a try too.

lindapinda - how 'eggs'iting that must have been for you & your cats! I am going to stay up alittle longer tonight to try to get a glimpe of Ezzy too!

I didn't get to watch the film I intended to watch last night. I also missed 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' & 'Parkinson' - too interested in tuning into the Nest!
Question Author

Oh no lindapinda.... what have I done? You surely aren't going to watch till April 26th are you?

That must have been amazing seeing the changeover and all the squawking instructions. I have a feeling we've been watching Ezzy sitting tight on the eggs and then Edwina taking over as it seems the female is much larger than the male.

PS. In the Osprey link, click on where it says 'Bird Breeder Cam 2006' and then click 'Ospreys in North Carolina' Something to watch while our pair are in the dark.

Have just tuned in again. It's so windy. He/she must be having a real struggle just staying put! The sound is fine at the moment, but all you can hear is the wind buffering.

April 26th is my birthday!
OMG I have just heard her calling out. It really made me jump - I was engrossed in another AB thread at the time!! This is just wonderful.

Just watched the parents change over. Amazing, I feel privileged. :o)

I'm glad you did share Cetti. Saturday found me sitting here for 4 hours watching and listening. I saw them exchange watch/hatch 3 times, and they talked to each other, screeching and chortling at each other. I also heard crows/Ravens cawing. At one point the wind was gusting so hard that it almost lifted her off the nest.

I will miss most of today due to work, but I know one or 2 of you will be keeping vigil....LOL

Inbetween courses.....

Three of us just watched Edwina fly off & Ezzy very gently cover their eggs - brilliant!

(That's if we know who's who of course - one of them is huge!)

Back to the dining table......

At last! I've finally got a connection & have seen a change over....they're amazing!!

Thank you for this Cetti - I've been popping in and out all weekend but didn't manage to see anything - must have been you lot clogging up the wires!

Question Author

Oh goody Robinia, I hoped you would see it as I know it's right up your street!

Really cross as I've been out and missed all the moving and squawking. Getting rid of husband for a week so I shall put in a few more watching hours.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if she gave birth on gessoo's birthday - definitely double drinkies all round!!!

Hi Cetti, I've now got two of my friends & one of my sisters watching our little friends - I sent them the link last night!

Yes it would be wonderful if the eggs hatched on gessoo's birthday! Better get the 'champers' at the ready just in case!

Nite, nite.

Thanks again cetti, had a wee look tonight before bedtime, but the screen is all black :-( ....My cats are able to sleep undisturbed tonight!!

Cetti, I am also getting rid of my husband this week (from tomorrow), so I can watch undisturbed!! Well, if one hatches on my birthday, we should name it gessoo. well perhaps not!!

Still keeping my eye on Edwina - it looks quite windy there today, but she looks content!
Magic!
