I couldn't believe it earlier - I had the speakers & full screen on. Edwina was sitting quietly, then suddenly turned round, got up & started squawking really loudly. My husband heard it too & came in to have a look. Whatever she could hear or see, she was very fiercely warding it off!
She's moved the eggs around a couple of times this evening - can't wait for them to hatch! Can't wait to see Ezzy either!
I'm hoping just for a bit that it might be taking your mind off other things smudge.
Yes, I heard her squawking. My dear husband thought it was me calling him....!!! No egg sightings yet but I did see her fussing around the nesting materials. Has anyone see her eat yet? Does Ezzy feed her or perhaps they swop over to give her a break?
If you want a change from Edwina have a look at this link: http://www.wildweb.de/cameras/mainframe.htm and click on Ospreys in North Carolina.
It's not quite the quality of the Eagle cam but it is showing a pair Of Ospreys at the nest.
OMG!! Have just seen Ezzy take over!! Edwina had a lot of calling, and you could hear him all around!...That went on for about 30-40 mins...They were making so much noise my 2 wee cats woke up!...She suddenly looked almost at the camera..turned round, got up...two eggs left exposed for about 5 seconds..and in he came!! He settled himself quite carefully...Wow...feel privileged! Will go to bed happy now!....He looks to be definetely bigger in size.
Oh no lindapinda.... what have I done? You surely aren't going to watch till April 26th are you?
That must have been amazing seeing the changeover and all the squawking instructions. I have a feeling we've been watching Ezzy sitting tight on the eggs and then Edwina taking over as it seems the female is much larger than the male.
PS. In the Osprey link, click on where it says 'Bird Breeder Cam 2006' and then click 'Ospreys in North Carolina' Something to watch while our pair are in the dark.
I'm glad you did share Cetti. Saturday found me sitting here for 4 hours watching and listening. I saw them exchange watch/hatch 3 times, and they talked to each other, screeching and chortling at each other. I also heard crows/Ravens cawing. At one point the wind was gusting so hard that it almost lifted her off the nest.
I will miss most of today due to work, but I know one or 2 of you will be keeping vigil....LOL
Oh goody Robinia, I hoped you would see it as I know it's right up your street!
Really cross as I've been out and missed all the moving and squawking. Getting rid of husband for a week so I shall put in a few more watching hours.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if she gave birth on gessoo's birthday - definitely double drinkies all round!!!
