Small res insects

any idea what these small red, 1mm insize, insects are? they resemble spiders and are not ants. This is the first time i have seen them and they are on the patio, sides of the house and conservatory

we are infested at work with the little tw4ts...they are red spiders...they get in your drinks and everything.
If you squash them its like painting your desk red...so best not use that tactic.

Outdoors on the patio they are more likely to be red velvet mites here

be certain that they are not ticks. from your description it sounds like ticks to me, off course i hope i'm wrong.
