my cat is missing
58 Answers
hi. my cat went missing yesterday, it is the first time this has happened. she goes out but normally only as far as she can see the house. i went out yesterday for a while and she was sat on my front steps (she didn't want to go in) but when i came back i couldn't see her, i called her but she never came. i went all round our estate last night and today i've been all round the village looking for her but there is no sign. i've put up a poster in our local shop. just wondered if anyone had any more suggestions as to where she could be xXx

How old is she, I know my own cat stayed firmly put till she got to a certain age and now she stays at home for days hardly venturing out and then goes off for 3 or 4 days for not reason (seemingly), although I do suspect she has a mystery benefactor somewhere! But I know how you feel as each time she does this I always jump to horrible conclusions and never get use to her little trips. Sometimes I think they may come back while you are not at home and you just keep missing each other! Anyway I hope all works out well and you soon have a purring cat back in your arms. X
Our cat Campbell went missing recently. She got shut overnight in someone else's house when he stayed overnight with his girlfriend. She hid under the floorboards when he got home, and emerged a little while later very, very dirty.
We did find out just how many houses she normally pops round to visit when we leafleted the street to find out if anyone had seen her. She's safe and sound, and still poking her nose in to other people's houses. Hope your kitty comes home soon.

Hi Posy....Any sign yet? If not, I'm sure she's just out exploring! I'm a first time cat owner[only had my kitten for two weeks], and up until now have only kept dogs. Church constantly amazes me with her independent streak. If it were one of my dogs missing I would truly panic, but were it Church, I'd take comfort in the fact she could look after herself....I have the scratches to proove it!!! Hope your little girl is OK.... Sending you both hugs XXX

Hate to say it, but do you live near any busy roads?
On a more positive note, my sister went to get her Sunday papers the other week from a shop on the corner, walked past a house a few doors down and saw her big fat black beast of a Cat called Sidney sitting in their front window, waving. Bloody cats, wherever there is food and some attention!
Good luck, I hope she has just gone on a short 'holiday'

hi everyone. she still hasn't come home. we do live quite close to a main road but she hates the noise and won't go near it. i have looked all down there though and looked in all the bushes at the edge. i have a poster up in our local shop, we only live in a small village and that is the main shop so i thought that would be the best place to put it. i just don't understand where she could be xXx
Hi posy. I'm really sorry to hear that your cats still not come home. As you've not heard anything it sounds as though she probably has got herself shut in a garage and the owners have gone away. If this is the case I should try not to worry too much (I do know this is easier said than done), but cats are pretty good survivors.
Many of mine have spent several days away and they wander back in not understanding what all the fuss is about.
Thinking of you, I know how distressing it can be. Pud xx
