my cat is missing
58 Answers
hi. my cat went missing yesterday, it is the first time this has happened. she goes out but normally only as far as she can see the house. i went out yesterday for a while and she was sat on my front steps (she didn't want to go in) but when i came back i couldn't see her, i called her but she never came. i went all round our estate last night and today i've been all round the village looking for her but there is no sign. i've put up a poster in our local shop. just wondered if anyone had any more suggestions as to where she could be xXx

Hi Posy. I am so sorry that you haven't found your cat yet. My cat Harry went missing last Wednesday (9th August) and he's still not come home. I can imagine how worried you are at the moment, I have been going out of my mind! The important thing is not to give up hope. Cats can return home months after they go missing. Try not to think the worst (I know that is easier said than done!). When I say a prayer for Harry to come home I will say a prayer for your cat to come home too. xx
my house cat managed to get out on Monday night and is still missing. Don't give up hope. We managed to find a woman here who feeds strays who is passing word around and keeping an eye out. Is there someone where you live that can do that? It helps knowing other people are looking. Post notices everywhere. We go out looking at 4am when it's quiet. But don't do this alone. we've been told stories of cats turning up weeks and months later so we believe ours will turn up eventually. But I know exactly how you're feeling.
Just one more thing. There's a later question posted about another missing cat & one of the replies mentions a cat that was "lost" for 7 weeks & it was actually in their house (behind kitchen cupboard) all along! Have you looked in all your cupboards etc?
Please don't give up hope - cats sometimes turn up weeks/months after going missing.
