Are Daddy long Legs Poisonous?

We were talking about insects a few months ago at break time in work and one of my friends told my daddy long legs are the most posionous creatures.

Could anyone tell me if what my friend said is true

I suggested that this was the case a few days ago but was put right by a fellow ABer, it appears that there is a spider in the USA also called Daddy Long Legs, that feeds off small insects, either way the Daddy Long Legs we see here are perfectly harmless.

Yeah. Urban myth. My wife is terrified of them, but only because of their long dangly legs. Like moths, they're attracted to light. I catch them if they're in the house and release them unharmed in the garden. 'My hero!', she says. lol

Complete myth/ The story is that the daddy long legs has the most poisonous venom known to man, but its fangs aer too short to penetrate human skin.

The truth is, the daddy long legs - or crane fly, doesn't have fangs or venom, and is totally harmless.

The daddly long legs spider does have venom, and its fangs will penetrate human skin, but the venom is too weak to hurt a human anyway.

thanks yesterday i went to a picnic saw "daddy long legs" i dont know if its true if it is but my friends keep saying daddy long legs so he said it was poisonus and i got so scared cuz it was next to me their was like 2 tree brances i was in one and the spider was in the second one and i got so scared cuz i was playing my psp and i might have not noticed it going pass me bitting me i was so scared now looking at ansers sound like they lied but i do have a question pls respond in www.youtube.com/aznvideomaker cuz i dont come here alot. so the question is..... can daddy long legs use its legs to put venom on you and what are the sympotoms of it venom, spider, anything to stop me out of my scaredness!
