When I lived in south London we had a flood meadow at the back of our house ..I would say that this meadow was a couple of acres .There were several gangs of foxes living there and we used to feed them.They will eat ,dog food,cat food ,any left over table scraps and the turkey legs which I used to cook specially for them.I know you shouldn't feed them or encourage them but they are delightful to watch and become very bold and actually have a built in clock as to feeding time !

Since moving to a more rural area albeit a small town and surrounded by countryside I have not seen one fox in the three years we have been here ..,..are they trying to tell us something?

I've been an avid fox fan for about 3 years now and feed some foxes at our local wood every night, they are a real pleasure to watch. One point is though you should NEVER feed them cooked bones, they splinter and get stuck in their insides, their natural diet is raw food but tinned dog food ( not dried ) will do them good too. I feed mine mostly RAW chicken wings raw eggs ( you should see the way they gently pick them up ) and dog food. I wish I knew how to post pics of them there are about 10 of them at the moment! I'd like to hear what other people think of them.

shaneystar2 - it took me a while to focus in on your fox, not exactly an over confident fox.

I have never seen them around our area though, which is good as they are obviously finding food elsewhere.

i feed them all the time on my allotment, they are a pleasure to watch, especially the cubs, so cute! and how they run when one of the semiwild cats hiss at them! the magpies & crows chase the cats, the cats chase the squirrels & foxes what a laugh, i just love wildlife :-)
