Hi all. Thanks to Wildwood the pics have been posted at last! About 3 years ago while out dog walking, I found a little mangy fox in our local wood, it was at deaths door so I went back to my car and got some dog food and water and gave it to the fox who was starving poor little thing. I thought that that was the last I'd see of him but he was there the following day again so I got some homeopathic stuff for his mange and within 4 weeks he was a healthy little chappie again, he would wait for me every night at the edge of the wood where I parked my car, this went on for about 18 months but one night he came over bitten to bits by a dog I think he was in an awful state so I got out my phone to call a vet and he disappeared and that was the last I saw of Fred, very sad. Anyway ( I hope this isn't too long ) I kept putting food out in case he did appear again and more foxes came to feed so in the end it became a routine. One night I pulled up and 4 of the foxes came out of the wood with a little kitten in tow, the foxes all stood back until the kitten had had enough then fed themselves. This happened for about 10 nights running but in the end I thought that it wasn't really the right life for a kitten so my friend came and picked him up and gave him a home, In May this year I developed spine and breast cancer , lost the use of my legs and spent 4 months in hospital ( I'm home now and have nearly got the use of my legs back but can't drive ) but I've got a dear friend who has been feeding the foxes while I've been away and she's going to drive me up to see them on Saturday, I'm really looking forward to it! Anyway thats the story of my fox family, I hope I haven't bored you all too much!! Gelda.
Gelda, the pics and the story are so beautiful they should be in a magazine or paper. Have you thought about that?
This lovely tale is so far removed from boring that we expect a sequel ........has the kitten settled down happily with your friend or has it developed foxy habits? Did anyone see Fred again. Next chapter soon, please :-)

Hi all. Thankyou so much for your good wishes. Unfortunately I didn't find poor Fred again the poor little chap probably just crawled away and died.I was a dog walker at the time ( had been for nearly 40 years ) so I had all the dog owners out looking for him but he was never seen again. As for Rupert the kitten he's settled in fine, my friend had to keep him in for about 5 weeks in case he ran back to his fox family! The reason I haven't put my pics in a magazine is because I don't want people to find out where the foxes are, I don't want somebody coming up with a gun to shoot them for their fur which does happen so I'm told and also I don't want them frightened in any way. My friend took me up to see them last night, I was so pleased to see them again there where 11 of them! If I can impose on Wildwood again I'll send you some more pics I took earlier this year, If it's too much trouble to do it Wildwood please let me know. Once again thankyou all for your kind wishes, you seem a very friendly bunch it's like I've adopted a new computer family!! Best wishes to you all. Gelda
