Baby guinea pigs
2 Answers
Does anyone know when baby guinea pigs are supposed to be weaned from their mother? I am currently fostering 5 guinea pigs (1 mother 4 babies). We don't know exactly how old the guinea pigs are, but the person handing them over (who was not the previous owner) guessed they were a 1-2 weeks old, yet he seemed to know the sex of the babies. When the only boy in the litter was trying things with his mother that baby boys shouldn't do (!) I separated him, but now I am worried he may be a bit young. Any suggestions as to whether there is anything I can do, considering I have no idea if he is sexually mature or just "practising" as such!!
