Fleas in furniture
5 Answers
My cat has recently been suffering from fleas. I have treated her with the strong stuff from the vet, however there are still fleas all over the house!
Help please, what is the best product or plan of action to rid my house of these creatures that are eating me, not just my cat, alive?
I have laminate floors but think they are laying eggs in the sofa, bed, cushions etc. Yuk!
Thanks!

Costs about 30-40 depending upon area of house and lasts for about a year to 18 months, sometimes longer. If you call the environmental health dept and say you want your house sprayed to kill cat fleas they should sort you out fine. Great thing about it also is that you're not allowed to hoover for a couple of weeks afterwards, one less chore! Oh just remembered, remove or cover any polished wood because the spray can mark it.
If you're not overrun you can buy a strong spray for the house from the vets. You have to spray a room then leave the doors and windows shut for a while. Once the fleas have been eradicated you need to make sure that carpets and furniture is hoovered regularly. I usually spray my house a couple of times a year regardless to stop potential problems but unfortunately if you have a severe problem the best bet is a pest controller as breezy says.
I used some stuff called Nuvan Staykill from the vet a few years ago and you hoovrered, sprayed and closed the room for only about 30 mins then hoovered again. I had occasion to use it a few times after a stray cat problem and it was very good. It was only available from the vet so I would see if it is still made or has a re formulated one.
