Recently we've been getting lots of flying creatures in the garden that resemble wasps but I don't think they are. Tehey have similar markings and seem to hover a lot. Anyone know what these critters are?

Hi vicburns,
Heathfield is right but the good news is, they do not sting.
Even better news. They eat aphids and other plant insects.
"waspettes"... Sounds like a brand new soul group! Wendy and the Waspettes? Wanda and the Waspettes...?

Lisa :)
