There is nothing 'similar' to KC registration - they are either KC registered or not.
The 'papers' are worthless and the puppies will not have had the guaranteed health checks that KC registered dogs have.
If you are paying out the sort of money that some of these 'breeders' are asking then I would expect proper KC registration papers at the very least (to be honest I would also phone the Kennel Club and get confirmation that the dogs ARE registered with them, especially if you don't know what the papers look like).
I know of people who have accepted photocopies of bits of pedigrees as KC registrations.
Each registered dog should have a registration number somewhere on the document that you can verify with the Kennel Club.
Be careful - the pup you buy will be with you for (hopefully) the next 10 years!
I always think that if people cannot be bothered to pay decent money to place an advert with a reputable advertiser then they don't think much of the pups.
You would be better going to a registered breeder who has been in the breed a number of years and see if/when they have a pup available.
