We had a blackbird nest in our laurel this year, do I remove the nest or is she likely to come back to same nest, also do I need to clean our a wren box after nesting as somebody told me she wont come back if I do

You can remove it they build a new nest every year.
Yes clean out the wren nest as well a male wren builds serveral new nests every year and the female chooses the best one

Many thanks YvonneM, that has answered my question.
with regard to the wren nestbox- wrens will roost in nestboxes if the weather gets severe at night. Counts of up to 20 crammed into one box have been seen! So once its cleaned out put a handful of wood shavings or hay in there and it may well help a few wrens through a cold winter
We clean out the tit boxes every year & they're always back the next spring to raise their little families. ;o}
