sea monkeys
4 Answers
my neighbour has gone away on holiday and left me in charge of her daughter's sea monkeys. They are in a tank of water about the size of a paperback novel. I could not see anything in the tank at first, but after straining my eyes I could see a lot of very tiny insect/tadpole type things swimming about. Since I have been in charge I have fed them according to instructions, but there are only 2 left! The two are about half a centimetre long so they are quite big compared with when she left. Has anyone every heard of or kept these strange creatures - what are they and will they last until 4th August when the neighbours come back?!

They are really Brine Shrimp, which hatch from freeze dried eggs out of a packet.I wouldn't worry too much if they all disappear, as your neighbour's daughter might already know from the manual, if they all die then you simply let the water evaporate and fill it up again with more purifed water and another sachet of whatever it is and they will magically come back to life in a few days. From what I can remember. Have a read of the instructions, it should explain the whole process more clearly and scientifically than I can or go to this site: http://www.staff.ncl.ac.uk/andrew.harbottle/seamonk.htm there is an official site but I can't remember the address, it should say in the manual somewhere. hope this helps!
