Have you ever noticed that if you put a piece of paper on the floor no matter how small your cat will sit on it?

Yes. My cats to it all the time. Weird!
yes and if you are reading a newspaper they will want to sit
on it and as for clean washing its cat paradise.

Yep one of ours does, it requires to much energy for the other one to get down of his perch on the settee arm!
The one who likes paper also has a passion for bras. Is this normal?

Another strange thing that one of my cats does is sit staring at the corner of the ceiling as if it can see something !!! weird
Tigger always looks at the wall behind my bed at night as if there is someting there. It freaks me out!
I have to bring work home occasionally and I can guarantee that as soon as I get any paperwork out the cats will materialise from nowhere and sit on whatever I'm trying to do.
Dusty & tigger - mine also sit staring at parts of my bedroom wall - it is a bit freaky in't it?
And they do say that cats have a sixth sense!!! :O
I'd forgotten about the paper on the floor bit of *strange cat behaviour* lol...... but they also seem to love sitting on unlaundered clothing (never leave a jumper just lying about!). Oh, I nearly forgot, they all seem to love empty cardboard boxes - perfect for jumping into ! Oh, the fun I am going to have when I get my new cat..... I am psyching myself up to being woken at 4 am for breakfast, searching for those pens and pencils (kittens seem to love hunting them and then hiding them away) and watching him chase imaginary dragons around the lounge....
I have 3 cats and hadn't noticed it before, but tried it and sure enough they all wanted a go at sitting on a post-it note - bizarre!!!
And have you ever noticed that if you are walking up a flight of stairs and your cat is at the bottom, it will wait until you reach about the middle then rush up and get to the top before you. Mine do it all the time, sometimes all 3 at once nearly sending me flying - the little b*****s!!!
And it's truly amazing how 3 sweet, quiet, little animals who sleep a lot during the day and hardly make a sound if they pad about, suddenly start charging around like a herd of wildebeest in the middle of the night !
Hi all! My cat Jessie does all of that and more! lol
If I leave a piece of paper lying around, I'm guaranteed to find it in shreds five minutes later....A new excuse for not doing homework (or in my case, not paying bills! lol): the cat ate it!
I can't leave toilet paper on the dispenser, as she'll just shred it to pieces and my bathroom will look like it's suffered a snow storm....She also steals ALL my washing up sponges, and plays "sponge ball" with them (leaving wee pieces all over the place).

One thing that puzzles me though...I think she thinks I'm her kitten when I'm in bed!!! lol She'll sit on my face, licks my face, "paws" me, and even...(YUK YUK!)... stick her nose on my cheek and just DRIBBLE!!! It's a lovely wake up call, I'm telling you! :O(
Any idea why she'd do this?
Another thing I forgot to mention is that one of my cats, Clio (yes, I'm her mum!) taps the surface of her drinking water with her paw, to make little ripples & waves on the surface before she drinks.
Any ideas why she does this, anyone?
Reading all your posts, my lot (all 5 of them!) do exactly that as well! I'm recently into those lovely chocolates from Aldi (Mozer Roth - try them, they're yummy!!) and my cats just love playing with the wrappers (they're sort of tissue paper, with foil inside). I think little Romy, who's 10 now, is either getting a bit senile or going through her 2nd kittenhood - she's really behaving oddly. One minute she wants to go out, the next she wants to come in again. She's never been particularly affectionate, but recently has even been getting into bed with me (much to Monty's chagrin!) & purring like a dino! She's always been a funny wee thing - adores my GSD, Elsa, but hates all the others! She & Elsa are so sweet to watch, they snuggle up together, this tiny wee cat & a huge dog, but they really are the best of friends.
To Cliosmum I know that answer to that one. My cat used to do that all the time. Most cats prefer to drink from running water as they think it's cleaner and that still water may be stagnant so to make themselves feel happier with it, they ripple the water themselves before drinking it. It's so cute to watch isn't it. I bought my cat a drinking fountain thinking she would prefer that, but she still preferred to ripple the bowls and drink from them.
My two (Misty and Oreo) do all of these strange things too. Especially the one of staring into the corner. It freaks me out too.

The old one,Misty, will walk across the laptop too. When I grade papers, I spread them out all over. Forget it, they paw them and hide under them. It's quite annoying.
Oh,max....my new boy Caspar is like yours in the morning! First he plays 'kama-kazi' and jumps all over me. He then starts to pat my head, trying to pull the covers off.,he then gets up close and personal!......touches his nose to mine..and then licks me!! Any exposed bit of skin is fair game. At least he doesn't do what a cat did to me many years ago....lick the inside of my ears;-)
Pasta. when a couple of mine have been little, I have been woken up by the worst thing!
they have jumped onto the bed, and if I am not appropriately covered, a set of teeth in my nipple has been the wake up call!
It is very disturbing, and quite sick in some ways, but more then that, extremely painful!!
Oh-wiggal!!!!....I flinched just reading that!....mine is in love with my legs...even with jeans on he has left battle-scars....I will be disfigured at this rate-lol The very first morning he took a swipe at my eyelid.......well-it WAS moving! )))))
When I first got Tigger and Blue, Tigger used to bring worms into the house. A couple ended up in my bedroom and one in the washing machine. Must have crawled into the basket. Ewwwwwwwwwww! I have a severe phobia of worms. One day I had to wait for my ex to come home and remove a worm. I'd put a bin over it so it wouldn't crawl anywhere. I feel sick just thinking about the whole episode.
