Found this small ball of feathers on the stairs inside our house. This was in March in the Outer Hebridies on the Isle of Harris. I am thinking it is a Goldcrest, but would like confirmation. Many thanks. Rory

Indeed it is!!
a quick google has shown its a resident on Harris. Do you have much in the form of woodland/forest there? It tends to spend a lot of its time in the treetops-particularly conifers.

burnhal, we do indeed have a small amount of trees around the house whch is very rare in Harris.
