I'm heartbroken :o(

My mum just rang me and my cat has been killed, she got run over tonight. I know some people may think it's silly, but I loved her. I'm so upset right now, I just wanna be at home with her :o(

Misty - I feel for you so much. People often say 'oh - it's only a pet' - but they become part of the family and losing them is so distressing. Give yourself space to grieve, never let anyone tell you you're being daft or silly and let it all out, hon. I'll be thinking of you.

Oh Mistys I am so so sorry. You are certainly not being silly, our pets are part of our family and for some people they are their best friends. My advice may be wrong and I know you won't be able to replace your cat, but get out there and get a little kitten - it will bring you lots of joy - we've just got a Rag Doll and she is amazing. Thank you all, I really am so upset, I can't stop crying. I can't get another cat, I live in a pub, I had to leave her with my parents when I moved out :o(

I'm just so glad I was home this weekend and had a really good hug with her saturday night. I'm gonna miss her so much, she was my baby :o(

I am SO,SO sorry mistys.....and yes-I have been there. We brought a lovely cat over from the US...and he met his fate on a country road....I just hope she did not feel any pain. remember,you can always talk to us on here xxxx

Thanks everyone. I'm still really upset today, I keep picturing her little body lying alone :o(
My mum says she had no obvious signs of being hurt, so I really hope she didn't suffer. I had a picture of her face as my screensaver and everytime I see it I wanna cry again. She was the best, and I'm glad I got to have the time I did with her.

oh misty so sorry to read your sad news its ok to be upset and cry as much as you need to it does help, there are lots of great people on here who have all been through this and will talk as much as you need to, talk about her to us and remember her with good memories you will i promise , i know at the moment you are heart broken but it does ease you wont ever forget her and i bet she had a lovely life , i lost one of mine a few weeks back in the same circumstances but he had a great life and he died coming home from hunting which he loved best often bringing me some little present quite often still alive love to you Ruth

Thank you both, I've been talking to my mum about all the daft things she used to do. And the last time I saw her was on my bed in the same spot I'd left her 18 hours before, so that memory will always make me smile, the lazy lump she was.
My dad is going to bury her in their garden, they wrapped her up in her blanket and in a box and said she just looked like she was sleeping, what she did best :o)

I will miss her everyday, but I have no bad memories. Even when she was at her naughtyist or most annoying I still found her adorable and could forgive anything.

Oh mistys honey , I don't know what to say as I know how upset and distraught you must be at this awful news. Our pets are very precious to us , and it's dreadful to lose them.
