Yes. They will drink from streams, or more likely from dew and rain (it's a long way to the nearest stream for the average lizard). Probably most would drink liquid water if they had any available, but dry desert kinds can't drink what isn't there, so must be able to manage without -- they'll get what they need from juicy food and the odd bit of dew.
Yes, but they prefer Vimto.
yes they do, all living things consume water. its actually pretty cute, because when my baby iguana drinks out of the little waterfall thing that my mom got her she looks like a little dinosaur hunched over. (i know theyre not the same but they are similar)
Christina801: Yes, all living things do need water, but they don't necessarily need to drink as such. Many smaller animals (and of course animals in dry places) rarely encounter liquid water. These can often get enough water from juices in their food, but they can also get "metabolic water" from very dry food. This is because water is one of the things produced when sugars or fats in the food are combined with oxygen from the air (this is respiration, which also produces carbon dioxide and energy). Metabolic water can be enough for some animals.
My bearded drago will not drink from his water bowl, but he likes pieces of fruit and green which is dipped in water. If your lizard is a live cricket insect eating species, then feed the crickets well before you feed them to the lizard then they will get all the vitamins. Also a calcium light is neded for desert species.
