Snake or not.
9 Answers
When I opened the garage door this morning, there emerged ,what looked like, ( to me ) a snake. It was brown in colour, approximately 15-18 inches long about 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch in diameter. I have been told that it is probably a slow worm , but the weird thing was that it moved exactly like a sidewinder snake does, till it moved into the undergrowth. Was it indeed ,a slow worm ?
P.S. I live in the south of England.

They go into our pond and eat tadpoles, newts and fish. Then disappear into the undergrowth - and are very hard to locate!!! Don't know what my pup will make of it if he comes across one!!

Hi ray! I am well - hope you are too!
To be honest, i think you have more knowledge than me!
It was just the colouring that got me thinking - all our grass snakes are sort of brown in colour - no distinguishing markings. But you could well be right - will look at link you provided.
They are feisty little (large) critters tho - and my goodness they can move!!
How is nature with you?
All is well here - robins are doing a grand job rearing their young, old yellowbeak is still singing his heart out, loads of bluetits feeding, All is well with pup n alfieblue!xxx
